Where it Began.... a Ramble
The Bending Grass Project began with Little Yoga Warriors, and even before Little Yoga Warriors, back in 2007, it began with an idea called Door For Change.  I am a philosopher first, romantic second, and artist third. With the acronym PRA, which kind of sounds like BRAH........ and BRAH means brother.... Brother, sister, the same thing and I like to think of myself as a sister of the world.  Are you still following?  Good.

I grew up in a stuffy region in CT, but even before my middle school days and treading the strict conformity of my high school dilemmas, I roamed the small beaches and woods of Rowayton CT collecting seashells, mica from rocks, and trying to gather in as much as possible within this beautiful world that somehow became my home. I wanted to discover EVERYTHING and all that was outside and within myself.   I grew up with privilege, both a curse and a gift, and with this “privilege” of freedom I became a nomad, roaming the depth of soul and the depth of the world.

I first traveled to Nashville in 2003, discovered I hated over produced recordings of my once simple music, then to New Zealand to work on a film for Hallmark Entertainment and document organic farming.... which ALMOST lead to deportation.  From the North Island to the South Island I traveled out of a van crossing flooded roads, a sky so black and constantly covered with the most enormous shooting starts I have ever seen, my feet took me all the way to the land of OZ (Australia) to surf and become a little hippie.

In 2005 I was again Boulder, CO bound and was introduced to current business partner Jeff Mix.  We began our work on our first book Sasha and Mishoo: Little Yoga Warriors.  The idea was to inspire little ones to connect to their bodies, to the world outside of their own and to nature.  We decided the only way to create a product that we felt good about was to self publish using 100% sustainable methods and thus in 2007 we launched our company Little Yoga Warriors and our first book hit the shelves.   Wind power, soy based inks, recycled paper, and using a small printing company we trust and respect (Monroe Litho) brought me wanting to do SO much MORE for people and the Earth.

In 2008 I hooked up with some outdoor gear companies, created a proposal, and 6 months later found myself with a good friend, some ponies and a guide, handing out over 500 pairs of shoes and socks to some of the most beautiful Tibetan people in the world, within some of the most extreme landscape of the Himalayan Mountains.  I thought for sure this would be the way I would leave the world…either loosing myself in it, or because of it, But it turns out it was only the beginning.

This website is a compilation of my art, music, blog, photography and the charity/ non profit projects I will be working on.  It’s a place for you to keep yourself in the loop with the REST of the world.  It’s also a place for you to be empowered to get yourself involved in the projects I conduct, to go find your own passions and maybe make up some projects yourselves. Contact me if you want to buy some art/ photographs, if you need a logo, some fresh ideas or if you just want to chat about environmental issues, endangered species or if you want to start a commune.

The point is this.  There is no act to little or too big for you to take part in.

Be Inspired
Be Empowered
Change yourselves AND change the world.

Peace
